A new West End destination
South Molton will become a major new destination in the heart of London’s West End, offering a vibrant mix of office, retail, dining and leisure spaces.
Blending heritage with innovation, the sustainable new development will feature new shops, cafes and restaurants; 200,000 sq ft of state-of-the-art offices at 60 Brook
Street and 56 Davies Street; 11 affordable homes and 22 private residences on South Molton Street; a luxury boutique hotel at 40-46 Brook Street; and greener public spaces on Davies Mews and South Molton Lane, designed to be more inviting and accessible.
The development is set to complete in 2027.
Sustainability
The South Molton development offers significant socio-economic benefits. It will create a new gateway into Mayfair, attracting around £6.5 million in annual spending upon completion. The project will also create around 1,000 permanent jobs, while a new pedestrian-only access route at 10 South Molton Street will offer access to Davies Mews for alfresco dining after midday.
With strong sustainability credentials, South Molton’s new buildings will produce 37% less carbon than those built to current UK standards. An investment of £8 million has been made to enhance public spaces, making them greener, cleaner and more pedestrian-friendly. Cutting-edge building designs will store rainwater for reuse, easing the strain on local drainage systems. Existing buildings are being retrofitted to maximise energy efficiency.
Heritage preservation is also a key focus, with 14 Listed Buildings undergoing deep retrofitting to ensure their long-term protection. Historic facades are being carefully preserved and adapted to maintain Mayfair’s unique character. The Running Horse pub (50 Davies Street) is being refurbished to breathe new life into this historic venue. The area’s rich history and character will be celebrated through new public art.
